From inception in 1972, we have played an integral role in the supply and support of communications systems in western and northern Canada. Today, that means engineering, deploying, maintaining and monitoring some of the north’s premier telecommunications equipment for a variety of client types: First Nation, territorial and municipal governments, public utilities, construction, mining and exploration, and small businesses – to name a few.

One of the strengths of Total North is its logistics team. This team is made up of a management group with oversight of the executive. The team meets multiple times weekly ensuring all scheduling decisions and updates are handled in compliance with customer requirements, our safety program and Total North’s core values. With multiple business units, Total North has valuable experience juggling priorities and maximizing the efficiencies of its technical staff to meet and exceed our customer’s timelines and quality of service. Careers – Total North Communications Ltd

When you’re on the job, everyone’s got everyone’s back and success is the customer getting what they were promised. Even if it means 5 guys taking turns on a particularly frigid night until the job is done. Which they did. We take pride in everything we do. If this sounds like the kind of team you want to be a part of, let’s connect.

What’s a natural resource officer?

A natural resource officer is responsible for the conservation and protection of the environment. They check and inspect activities related to the use or extraction of the Yukon’s natural resources. Natural resource officers in the Yukon are responsible for many industries and functions, including:

  • forestry;
  • mining;
  • oil and gas;
  • land use;
  • water quality monitoring; and
  • flood forecasting.

Other regions in Canada have specific positions for each industry, like forestry officers or lands officers. We have a holistic approach at the Government of Yukon. Natural resource officers work in 1 of the Yukon’s 5 districts. Each district has a team led by a senior officer that supports operations in their region. Each team helps promote the corporate mission and culture.

A uniquely Yukon travel experience

We believe air travel should be both memorable and enjoyable, and all of our departments—from catering to IT, cabin crew to cargo—work hard to make this a reality. We’re honoured to have been recognized by Trip Advisor who named us Best Specialty and Leisure Airline in North America in 2019 based on customer feedback and reviews.

Complimentary freshly made meals from our Flight Kitchen make your travel experience one that will also appeal to your taste buds—especially when the scent of warm cookies or other delightful treats waft through the cabin. What makes us unique isn’t just that level of dedication. It’s also that Air North is 100% owned by Yukoners, including the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. One in 15 Yukoners hold an equity or employment stake in the airline. Air North, Yukon’s Airline (facebook.com)
