Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Alberta
SMACNA is a provincial association with membership in Calgary, Edmonton, Camrose, Nisku, Sherwood Park, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Airdrie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Redcliff. We are an Association of fellow contractors, suppliers and manufacturers that lobbies for changes and issues that affect it’s members and the HVAC industry. SMACNA gets involved with local and provincial government with regards to code changes, permits, standards of practice, legal issues. etc. Without SMCAA these issues would be forced on industry without any consultation and with little recourse to change them.
SMACNA-AB is the HVAC industry’s voice in Alberta. Our organization continues to work with all levels of government on behalf of our members. Our Technical Liaison Committees in both of our Edmonton and Calgary chapters meet monthly to discuss our members’ issues, whether you are a small contractor or one of the largest in Alberta. We are here to be your voice on the Building and Gas Sub Councils. Municipalities, Alberta Industry Training. SMACNA Alberta has representatives on the Alberta Construction Association on three of their committees: Contracts Committee, Safety-WCB and the Government Action Committee.
