The Vancouver Island Crisis Society is contracted by Provincial Health Services Authority and Island Health to provide the Vancouver Island Crisis Line service to the entire island, the islands of the Georgia Strait, and the mainland communities between Powell River and Rivers Inlet. We also work in partnership with Island Health to provide public access to Mental Health and Substance Use crisis teams in the communities administered by Island Health. Through our programs, we support local sustainable food, help build food policy and develop coordinated community strategies to improve food security. DIVISION OF FAMILY PRACTICE
The Nanaimo Division of Family Practice represents Family Physicians, Locums, Hospitalists, Emergency Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Family Medicine Residents in Nanaimo and surrounding areas. The Nanaimo Division was incorporated on November 22, 2011 and we celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2021. There is no obligation or cost to join. Division funding from the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC) is established on a per-member basis. This funding provides support to Physicians for their time on working groups and provides infrastructure funds for member-identified priorities and Division events, e.g. continuing medical education events (CMEs).
