Duties 

Duties A (DAY)

  • Direct, coordinate and monitor the activities of the Team Leader-plant
  • Assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads, including co-ordination of temporary staff
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to standards.
  • Collaborate with Plant Director on new product and packaging testing
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Clarify work orders (when needed) to Team Leader-plant
  • Enter hours in payroll for day shift employees
  • Responsible for Inventory adjustments of Raw materials, packaging components and WIP as well as expired inventory
  • Work conjointly with Production Planner to ensure daily monitoring of production plans in order to meet standards and regulations. (WIP vs established schedule)
  • Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals with Team Leader-plant input
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised in exceptional circumstances.
  • Requisition materials and repair services.
  • Perform visual and swabs (upon request)
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as safety, new policies etc
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
  • Inspect equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications.
  • Resolve personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
  • Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.
  • Participate in the hiring process by reviewing credentials, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Replace other positions when required as identified on the Organigramme | Organizational chart

Duties B EVENING

  • Verifies the daily and weekly QUBE transaction to complete orders
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • prepare employee and donation orders on a weekly basis 
  • preparing samples
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Enter hours in payroll for evening shift employees
  • Responsible for non-stock inventory and raw material and packaging components inventory
  • Responsible for Inventory adjustments of Raw materials, packaging components and WIP as well as expired inventory
  • Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised
  • Requisition materials and repair services.
  • Perform visual and swabs
  • Ensure that equipment is disassembled, cleaned and sanitized every Friday
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as safety, new policies etc
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
  • Inspect equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications.
  • Resolve personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
  • Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.

  • Responsible for locking the building and setting alarm
  • Replace other positions when required as identified on the Organigramme | Organizational chart
  • participate in CI projects
  • coach and train employees as well as conduct daily huddles.

Job Specifications

Education required

  • This position requires a High School diploma and 3 – 5 years experience
  • Bilingual
  • Microsoft office proficient
  • Forklift license (an asset)

Skills

  • Excellent understanding of SQF,HACCP and GMPs
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role in food industry
  • Excellent understanding of production planning tools and ERP
  • Advance interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, train and mentor current and new employees
  • Physically fit with excellent mobility and manual dexterity
