OUR STORY IS PART MAN, PART LEGEND, ALL COLONEL.
It all began in a Kentucky gas station way back in 1930 when Harland Sanders first started cooking for hungry travelers. Six years later, he became a Colonel and, by 1940, he had perfected his now famous 11-herbs-and-spices recipe. He spent the rest of his long and storied life taking his chicken to the world, bringing it to Canada back in 1953 and even living here from 1965 until 1980. BUT THE COLONEL WAS MORE THAN JUST THE VISIONARY BEHIND FINGER LICKIN’ GOOD CHICKEN. Throughout everything the Colonel did, he espoused his own unique brand of values, famously saying, “A man’s life is written by the way he lives it.” Here in Canada, we’ve been writing our own unique chapter in the KFC story. Whether we wear “KFC” or “PFK” on our uniforms, we all embody the Colonel’s integrity and spirit of hard work.
This may be an “About Us” section, but we are all about you.
We serve our candidate and employer networks, to lead a connected, forward-thinking work community. We understand that work is an important piece of your work+life equation. Founded in 1976 by Mike Duff, our organization has grown organically and through a number of acquisitions. Concordia University of Edmonton was born to be different.
For almost one hundred years, our students came together through a shared belief, despite their varied interests and fascinations, their majors and minors. It created a unique culture, where we could learn and create with anyone. CUE is no longer a faith-based campus but it remains a gathering place — a place of spirit — no matter what drives us. At CUE we apply what we learn, in and out of our formal programs of study, working together to solve problems on campus and beyond. We earn a broad education, intellectually and emotionally, even as we specialize. We live and work on a small campus, a river valley oasis, but Edmonton is our workshop.
At CUE a centre for innovation blends science and business with the liberal arts and Indigenous studies. At CUE the president might sit down at our table in the Tegler Centre with coffee and ask us why we chose this school, how it could be even better. The close friends we meet at CUE, the friends we remain with our entire lives, could be from five different faculties and five countries. We’re constantly seeking the right balance between teaching and research, between specialization and adventurousness. But our ultimate goal has not changed since 1921: to be more than students and professors, to create a community of active citizens, of good and honourable people.
Prime Staffing has been providing temporary, contract, and permanent staffing solutions for businesses in Edmonton for nearly 50 years. Our advanced digital database contains detailed information about each of the thousands of workers we have on file, enabling us to find the perfect match for each placement. Since 1974 Prime Staffing has worked with over 800 businesses, primarily in construction, industry, and warehousing, but in recent years, we’ve expanded into finding placements for clerical and professional roles as well. With our recent expansion into Calgary, we’re now able and excited to serve a broader range of businesses across Alberta. https://primestaffing.ca
