The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) opened for patient care January 30, 2011. We are a unique healthcare organization with three primary roles—providing acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities; we serve as a district referral centre providing specialist services for smaller communities in the area; and we are the specialized mental health service provider serving all of northeast Ontario.North Bay is a caring community of energetic, high-spirited people. The Bear Chair Company Ltd. originated in December 1987, as a result of a home woodworking shop in a Northern Ontario basement. Its founder, David Wright, saw a potential in the classic Muskoka/Adirondack Chair as a marketable product if offered in a ready to assemble form. That same year he produced one hundred chairs and made his first sale to five Beaver Lumber stores in southern Ontario. By the next year two part time workers were hired.

Each year we transport 60,000 passengers comfortably on the train, 300,000 packages, 3000 car loads of freight, and 2000 vehicles.We are over 110 years old and are proud of our heritage and connection to the communities we serve.We are focused on moving

In the early 1950s, a group of parents who had a vision of a better quality of life for their children with intellectual disabilities met to discuss how this dream could become a reality.In 1954 the association of parents formed the “North Bay and District Association for Retarded Children”, and began to provide school services to eight children in a church basement.The centre opened in May 1969. Since then, the Association staff has grown from two (2) to a total of two hundred and seventy four (274) employees and provides a variety of services to the people of North Bay and surrounding area.In 2008, the North Bay and District Association for Community Living changed its name to Community Living North Bay.Community Living North Bay is registered as a Charitable Organization. The Association is incorporated under the Incorporation Act in the Province of Ontario.
